Stalks bearing spikes of small star-shaped whitish flowers topped with tufts of burgundy-blushed bracts rise from rosettes of sword-shaped burgundy leaves in late-summer. Blooms open from the bottom up. The long-lasting inflorescences resemble Pineapples.
